I guess it's a logical assumption on my part. The BB an S Sn to me seemed to represent the Beatnik and Supersonic. Look in the rest of text you notice HG and SA for Honor Guard and Silver Agent when data is describing the events of the Flipbook. There is also one for Max O'Millions at start and couple abbreviations for the New York that wouldn't seem to have a known reference...
