In the 1940s, Fago's Funny Features was a small animation company that created many cartoon characters, including Loony Leo. These cartoons were distributed to movie theaters and shown as shorts before the main feature film. The Loony Leo cartoons featured Leo, his rascally nephews, and Leo's romance with Lola the lioness.
Now take one real life, Astro City sinister villain named Professor Borzoi. Add a wacky invention called a Belief Ray which has many applications, including bringing imaginary movie characters to life. In this case; Loony Leo.

Tillie has a power than seems to transcend time, reality, the fourth wall, and probably several dimensions as well. She has been seen and participated in the ongoing story continuity of Astro City Comics for quite some time, although chances are you didn't know it. She seems to know how unique her powers are, and yet she remains amazed and thrilled at what they can do. They still surprise her, and oddly enough, they surprise the Broken Man too.

Krigari was born in the Unterverse, a microscopic layer of reality smaller than Subatomia or even Quarkadia. In Krigari's homeland, combat was paramount and ubiquitous: every creature was expected to fight or die. As he fought, Krigari learned that the act of battle was a kind of nutrition that sustained and nourished him, making him grow and become stronger and smarter.
Krigari's conquests were so vast that, as he slaughtered hundreds, thousands, and millions of lifes, he grew beyond the worlds of his youth until he razed his way through a multitude of sub-atomic realms.
Now he set his sights on Earth and most especially Honor Guard.

The Living Nightmare
Its history has been its namesake. It is indeed a nightmare, living an existence that is parasitic in nature, deriving its energy from the fear around it. Brief periods of time have been peaceful, emotionally controlled by a strong host able to calm its ravenous desire for raw, cold, primitive, horrific, and unbridled fright.
