"Great Expectations" was first published in Kurt Busiek's Astro City Vol.2 No.22.

- This story was the last issue of the Volume 2 of the series. It arrived in stores around July 2000 and the next actual issue of Astro City wasn't until February 2003 with Local Heroes #1, due to creator Kurt Busiek's medical issues. Though an Astro City story was included in a DC Comics 9/11 Tribute Book in Early 2002.
